Degrees of Comparison of Adjectives


Positive            Comparative            Superlative

For example: He is as tall as his brother. This text is as difficult as that one. He is not so tall as his brother. This book is more interesting than that one. Mary is the tallest of all the students.
General Rules: 
1) Drop e: large - larger - the largest
2) Change y into i: busy - busier - the busiest
3) Double: big - bigger - the biggest

Irregular Adjectives:

        farther - farthest
